Steve Miska
Steve Miska currently serves in Germany as a major in the United
States Army. He has served in various capacities including
lieutenant positions in an airborne battalion in Panama, as a
company commander in the 82nd Airborne Division, and as an
operations officer with the 1-18th Infantry in both Germany and
Tikrit, Iraq. While in Tikrit in 2004-2005, Steve developed a
civil-military Joint Coordination Center that synchronized the
activities of the police, Iraqi forces, and coalition forces. His
article, “Growing the Iraqi Security Forces”, will soon be
published in Military Review. Steve has also taught economics for
two years in the Department of Social Sciences, West Point,
following completion of his M.B.A. from Cornell University. He
also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States
Military Academy. Steve and his wife, Amy, live with their two
children in Wurzburg, Germany.

Luis Carlos Montalván
Former Army captain Luis Carlos Montalván served twice in Iraq
leading cavalry elements and advisory teams. He
contributed to the 3d ACR’s success in "Operation Restoring
Rights" in Tall Afar in 2005 and served as a participant in
AEI’s Iraq Planning Group in 2007. His published
work has been featured in The NY
Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The
Baltimore Sun, The Military Times, NPR, and Abu Dhabi
among other media outlets. Luis
is presently working on dual Master's degrees in
Journalism and Strategic Communications at Columbia University
in NYC. He is also completing a book about the War in Iraq.

Ricardo
Morales
Rich Morales is a US Army
Lieutenant Colonel. His experience includes ground combat
during the Gulf War, command of an M1A1 Tank Company in Germany,
command of UN peacekeepers in the Balkans, and two tours in Iraq
as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a former Assistant
Professor of Systems Engineering, he taught economics and
management at West Point and worked at the Pentagon on Army
transformation initiatives. He was selected as a White House
Fellow in 2001 and served at OMB and NASA and was later named
Deputy for Border and Transportation Security in the President's
Homeland Security Transition Planning Office. He holds a BS in
Aerospace Engineering from the US Military Academy, an MBA from
the Yale School of Management, and graduated as a Mahan Scholar
from the Naval War College with a masters in National Security
and Strategic Studies. His research interests include military
transformation, organizational behavior and design, homeland
security, and conflict resolution. He is published in several
professional journals and is a member of the Remarque Institute
at NYU. Rich currently serves as a Brigade Operations Officer
in the Multinational Division in Baghdad and was recently
selected to command an armor battalion or cavalry squadron.

Scott Morrison
Scott
A. Morrison is an Army Special Forces Major presently serving a
one year tour as a military advisor to the Commander of the 3rd
Bde, 2nd Iraqi Army Division in Qarrayah, Iraq. He is a graduate
of the U.S.Military Academy and he holds MA in Defense Studies
from King's College, University of London, an MA in Military
Science with a concentration in Unconventional Warfare from
American Military University, and is pursuing a MS in Strategic
Intelligence at the Joint Military Intelligence College at the
Defense Intelligence Agency. Major Morrison has lived and traveled
overseas in Europe for a cumulative total of ten years of his
life. His operational experience includes serving as a Rifle
Platoon Leader in the 82nd Airborne Division during Desert Storm,
and as a Special Forces Detachment and Company Commander on
multiple sensitive special operations in the Balkans, Operation
Provide Comfort II in Northern Iraq, several deployments to Africa
for various contingencies, and multiple missions that set the
conditions for security coverage leading up to the 2004 Olympic
Games in Athens, Greece.

Stephen Myrow
Mr. Myrow recently completed
service in Baghdad, Iraq as the Chief of Staff for the Ministry
of Transportation in the Coalition Provisional Authority. From
1990 to 1995, he also performed in various legal, policy and
intelligence capacities at the Departments of State and Defense.
Before returning to government service, Mr. Myrow practiced
corporate law with an emphasis on international matters in
Manhattan and Washington, DC from 1997 to 2003. Since 1999, Mr.
Myrow has been a Lecturer at SAIS where he teaches the Crisis
Simulation Seminar.
He holds a bachelor of arts
degree with a double major in Political Science and Russian
Studies from Colgate University, a master of arts degree in
International Affairs from SAIS and a doctor of laws degree from
the Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Myrow is a term member of
the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the board of
directors of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security.
